A fundamental part of our success in supporting people with such complex needs is the multi-disciplinary approach provided by our own Positive Behaviour Support Team

We also place great importance on providing individually-planned education, employment and leisure opportunities, to support each individual in their ongoing development.

We pride ourselves on supporting our staff through effective management, training opportunities and career progression. We are committed to providing our employees with the best training available, ensuring that our service users are always looked after by highly-experienced social care workers.

Appletrees is a large, detached country house supporting up to eight men and women with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs. The property is set in beautiful open countryside in the village of Upper Bucklebury, six miles from Newbury town centre.

Accommodation on the ground floor consists of a large communal lounge, kitchen, dining room, and office, with three single bedrooms and a separate bathroom. Upstairs there are five further bedrooms and separate bathrooms. The lounge leads onto a wooden veranda and a large garden, ideal for the summer, which provides a relaxing and safe environment.

Appletrees is a lively and active environment with a real can do spirit. Within the grounds, Treetops is a separate, purpose-built day services centre, where the home’s Day Activities Coordinator helps deliver individual and group activity programmes, including educational support, arts and crafts and sensory activities. In addition, the home has two vehicles for local travel. There’s music every week, regular meals out and monthly club nights.
